5-Amino-1MQ Mechanism of Action
How 5-Amino-1MQ works: receptor targets, signalling pathways, and molecular profile.
Blocking NNMT to Change Fat-Cell Metabolism
5-Amino-1MQ inhibits NNMT (nicotinamide N-methyltransferase), an enzyme highly expressed in fat tissue that methylates nicotinamide, consuming a methyl-donor pool the cell would otherwise use for other metabolic processes. NNMT activity has been linked to fat-cell energy storage and to obesity in human observational data, which is the rationale for studying its inhibition as a fat-loss strategy.
Not a Peptide
Unlike most compounds in this catalog, 5-Amino-1MQ is a small molecule, not a peptide — structurally unrelated to amino-acid chains. It's grouped in the same research-vendor and longevity-community conversation as NAD+ and MOTS-c because of shared interest in metabolic/mitochondrial health, not because of any structural similarity.
