SNAP-8 Mechanism of Action
How SNAP-8 works: receptor targets, signalling pathways, and molecular profile.
A SNARE-Complex Mechanism, Shown in a Dish
SNAP-8's proposed mechanism targets the SNARE complex — the protein machinery nerve cells use to release neurotransmitter and trigger muscle contraction, the same general target Botox (botulinum toxin) hits, though through a completely different biochemical action. This SNARE-interference effect has been demonstrated in lab-dish (in vitro) experiments.
The Missing Piece: Skin Penetration
The gap between mechanism and marketing claim is skin penetration — for SNAP-8 to work as advertised, it needs to cross the skin barrier in meaningful concentration and reach nerve-muscle junctions underneath. No published data confirms this actually happens with topical application at cosmetic concentrations.
