Reconstituting a 5 mg vial with 2.5 mL of bacteriostatic water gives a concentration of 2 mg/mL. On a U-100 insulin syringe, where one unit is 0.01 mL, that puts 20 mcg in every unit drawn.

A 2000 mcg dose at that concentration is 1 mL, which is 100 units on the syringe, and the vial holds about 2 of them.
